Milene Moreira, violin
A native of Brazil, Milene is currently a member of the Sarasota Orchestra and Sarasota Opera. Prior to moving to Sarasota in 2003, Milene served as Concertmaster of ULBRA and Theatro Sao Pedro Chamber Orchestra (Porto Alegre, Brazil). Milene received a Bachelor of Music from Federal Universtity of Rio Grande do Sul, a Master Degree of Music from Carnegie Mellon University, and an Arts Diploma from Freibur Musikhochschule in Germany.
An active chamber musician, Milene also has a Graduate Performance Diploma from Hartt School of Music where she studied with the esteemed members of the Emerson String Quartet.
Milene has been invited to perform all over the world in prestigious music festivals as a chamber musician. Her orchestral experience includes performances with Florida Orchestra, Opera Tampa, Hartford Symphony, Zurich Chamber Orchestra. Milene has been on Faculty at SMC since 2016 and has a thriving studio of talented musicians.
