Leah Latorraca, violin
Leah Latorraca is a Core Violinist with the Sarasota Orchestra. She earned her Master of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Stephen Rose, and her Bachelor of Music from the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings.
Leah has held acting positions with both the North Carolina Symphony and the Charlotte Symphony, and was a member of The Phoenix Symphony from 2017 to 2021. As a soloist, she has performed with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Music Institute of Chicago Academy Orchestra, and the McDuffie Center for Strings Orchestra.
Her summer engagements have included performances at the Santa Fe Opera, Colorado Music Festival, and serving as Assistant Concertmaster of the Sunriver Music Festival in Oregon. She has also participated in programs at the Yellow Barn Young Artist Program, Banff Centre, Heifetz International Summer Institute, and the National Repertory Orchestra. As a member of the Orchestra of the Americas (YOA), Leah toured throughout Central and South America and served as a Global Leader for the organization.
Leah joins SMC’s faculty with enthusiasm, eager to mentor young musicians and share her passion for excellence in music.
